Mary Kathleen “Kathy” Crum, 82, of Rushville, IL passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at her residence. She was born on November 18, 1941 in Beardstown, IL a daughter of the late Wilbert (Bill) & Margaret Foster Newingham. She married Richard Crum on July 31, 1959. He survives along with (3) daughters; Kim Melton of Beardstown, IL, Lynn Anderson (George) of Alton, IL, Mindy Davis (Richard) of Rushville, IL, (12) grandchildren; Kristen Martin (Jesse), Terrin Geist (Dustin Wear), Brandi Merril (Corey), Dylan Crum, Austin Melton, Tori Melton, Erica Ward (Ryan), Dustin Anderson (Sarah), Ashley Martin (Brad), Cody Ashcraft (Amelia), Avry Davis (Coulten Klitz), Aidan Davis (Gretchen Ward) and (17) great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Barbara Newingham, Joe Newingham, Kaye Smedley and her in-laws; Glen & Maxine Crum. She was a dedicated stay at home mom & homemaker for many years, a loving mother & her families’ biggest cheerleader. Kathy was often referred to as a super mom that did it all by her children. Her first employment was working at the Rushville Junior High Cafeteria for many years. She later worked for the Schuyler Telephone Company until retirement. One of her many loves was taking care of her precious animals, including riding horses, race horses, llamas, a donkey and many beloved dogs & cats, including Toby her Shih Tzu. While most of her life was dedicated to her family she was a social butterfly. Kathy loved dancing and was voted best dancer in high school. Anyone who knew her will know she was the first one on and the last off the dance floor. She was an avid walker and walked four miles every morning for as long as she was in good health. After retirement her life was all about her grandchildren and taking trips with her dear friends. Kathy was a fantastic cook and loved to host family dinners and entertain. She always loved having a full house and was happiest when she was surrounded by her friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Tomich & David Eyler officiating. Interment will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to Rushville First United Methodist Church, Schuyler County Humane Society or The MDH Hospice.

Charles Leo Triplett, age 92 years and 5 months, was the son of Victor and Betty (Headrick) Triplett. He was born on July 21, 1931, at his lifelong residence of Rhyse, Missouri. He passed from this world on December 21, 2023, peacefully at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, with his family at his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ethel (Blankenship) Triplett; daughter, Vicki and son-in-law Dennis Medlock of Salem, MO; son, Stan Triplett; daughter-in-law, Lani; grandson, Taylor and wife Taylor all of Springfield, MO; sister, Eula Sims of O’Fallon, MO; sister-in-law, Darlene Triplett; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and in-laws: Theodore (Betty) Triplett, Buren (Lillie) Triplett, Wilber Triplett, Mary (Lee) Milano, Susan (Lloyd) Gravatt, Georgetta (Charlie) Outman, Frank (Zoe) Triplett, Arthur (Effie) Triplett, Nora (Jack) Neice, Jessie (Carl) Robnett, Edna (Ray) Parks. Charles attended Bethlehem School and graduated from Licking High School without missing a single day of school. In his youth he enjoyed participating in sports, playing for the Licking Wildcats in basketball and track. After high school he played baseball on a community team and teams from around the area would get together and play each other. He had the opportunity to go to the Bolin Baseball Camp at Montauk. He worked for 13 years at Rawlings making baseballs and uniforms. After his time there, he made the decision to come home to his first love of farming, to raise hogs, cattle, crops, and tend to the everyday life of the farm. He did custom haying in the summers for a time and he and his son Stan cut many a load of cordwood. He loved the outdoors, going hunting, and fishing with family and friends. (Always a country boy at heart.) He was also community minded, serving on various boards over the years. Charles attended the Licking Church of Christ where he chose to become a Christian and be baptized into the Christian walk. He always enjoyed the fellowship with all his church family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Donations in memory of Charles may be made to Licking Church of Christ, 203 S. Main St. Licking, MO 65542, or to the cancer society.
